FAQ
Publishing
How long does a review take? A person reviews every version by hand, so it is not instant. gamealia status and gamealia_get_status show the state, and the dashboard shows it too.
Can I update a live game? Yes: upload a new version and submit it. The current version stays live until the new one is approved.
My upload is stuck and a new one is blocked. Run gamealia abort <slug> to abort interrupted uploads. If a previous version is still being tested, gamealia publish --wait waits for it.
Can I change the slug? Only before the game has been live.
Do I have to use the CLI or the MCP? No: you can upload a zip in the developer portal. The CLI and the MCP test locally first, which saves review rounds.
Can I host the game myself and just list it? No. Every game is uploaded and hosted by Gamealia, so the reviewed build is exactly what players get.
SDK
Do I need the portal to develop? No. Outside the portal the SDK runs a mock with fake ads, a fake player and local saves (SDK reference). gamealia preview shows your game inside a copy of the portal page.
Why does requestMidgame() return shown: false? The 120-second cap between midgames, no ad available, an ad blocker, or ads off for the game. Go on as if the break happened (Ads).
Can I use localStorage? For your own keys, prefixed with your slug, yes; never read other keys. For saves use Gamealia.data, which also syncs signed-in players (Cloud save).
How do I know the player's language? init() returns locale, the portal language (one of about 30, for example es, en, pt-BR, ja). The game decides what to do with it.
Is the SDK on npm? No: load it from https://gamealia.app/sdk/v1.js with a script tag.
Accounts and data
Can my game have its own accounts? No: use the Gamealia account, and let guests play. Your backend identifies players with a verified token (Player accounts).
Why is user.id different in each of my games? Ids are per game on purpose, so games cannot track players across each other.
Which player data do I get? The username, the avatar and a per-game id, nothing else. No email.
Money
How much do I earn? 50% of the ad revenue of your game, in USD (Revenue and payouts).
Why did my estimate change? Google adjusts estimates (for example for invalid traffic). The confirmed amount, set when AdSense pays, is what counts.
When am I paid? Monthly, once your confirmed balance reaches USD 50, by PayPal, Payoneer, Wise or Mercado Pago / CBU.
Can I sell items? Not yet (In-game purchases).
Help
The autotest fails and I do not know why. Run gamealia test and read each failing check in Autotest. With an assistant, use the MCP prompt fix-autotest-failures.
My assistant does not see the gamealia_* tools. The MCP server is not registered: run gamealia agents install, then restart the assistant (Publish with AI).
I have another question or need help. Write to [email protected] with your game's slug and what happened (Support). A person answers, usually within one business day.
